Coconut

Coconut is a portable Bluetooth speaker built around a real coconut shell. The shells are selected and emptied in Vietnam, where the insides are used. Each shell is processed individually, retaining its own surface and shape. A wooden ring holds the grille; a wooden foot supports the shell. The speaker is fully built in the Netherlands, at the studio in Almere. A long development process, including work with Sound Hub Denmark, brought together custom electronics, a full-range driver made in Italy and a rechargeable battery. The shell remains visible as the enclosure, with its natural variation intact.
